From the recording Random Demolition
Written in 2016, I haven't really written anything that would be considered "rap" since about 2005-2006. Part of the reason for this tune was that I've always been hopelessly obsessed with Radiohead's "A Wolf at the Door" and wanted to do something inspired by it. Another reason is that I was trying to prove to myself that rap music was harder to make than I believed; I wanted to appreciate the art form a bit more.
Lyrics are about, what else?, the unexpected ending to a relationship that really spun me out for a few years. I was searching for meaning and searching for closure.
While I don't think I have a traditional "rap voice", this song was actually a lot of fun to put together.
